World Music Day (French Ministry of Culture)

Our mission: development of an online communication strategy (redesign of the official website, design and production of multimedia and interactive tools).

Since its creation in 1984, World Music Day (WMD) invites us to travel in the universe of music, either professional or amateur. Each June, the festival brings together musicians from more than 110 countries, bridging the generations in an exciting mélange of styles—from classical music to rap, from rock to electro.
For the 2008 gathering, the French Minister of Culture chose Anamnesia to redesign the official website, which is the portal of the event.

This website will have two main goals:

  • Informing the public about WMD (its history, etc.) and the thousands of events that take place in France and all over the world, and
  • Defining the resources that are necessary for the management of the Festival.

At the same time, Anamnesia is implementing new communication tools that come from the Web 2.0 world (Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, DailyMotion, etc.). The main goal is to encourage young people to participate in the event.
Virtual interaction will enhance WMD’s presence on the internet, and interest more people to participate in the event who would otherwise be unaware of it.
