European House of Patchwork and Textile Arts of Saint-Maire-Aux-Mines (Lorraine, France)

Our mission : study and content definition

The European House of Patchwork and Textile Arts is a cultural, touristic and economic project that organizes exhibitions on patchwork, the history of textiles and creation. It also functions as an Interpretation Center for Architecture and Cultural Heritage. This institution aims to become a major social hub in the city of Saint-Marie-Aux-Mines and the Val-d’Argent.

For this project, we are in charge of the documentary research and the creation of a large part of the permanent content based on the themes chosen beforehand in the programming. This work includes defining and validating the content of the themes that are planned to join the museum’s program.

Our mission also includes the identification of the themes that are meant to develop the topic. This work will allow each sequence or module to be nurtured and will provide a relevant approach to the themes selected. The need to redefine contents will give a structure to the messages breaking it up into coherent units based on the themes in question; this in turn, will provide a precise indication of the main mediation tools to be employed, as well as their role, status, nature (text, objects, screens, video, audio contents, interactive kiosks, etc.).
