Prehistoric Museum of Grand Pressigny (Centre, France)

Our mission: scenarization, writing, design and implementation of multimedia and audiovisual solutions.

The Prehistoric Museum of Grand-Pressigny is prestigious, first of all, due to its very location: former Prisciniacus, the traces of which can be found as early as the VIth century; a defensive fortress from 1193 onwards, built by William of Pressigny, and a stage for many battles fought over 5 centuries and finally a Renaissance Style castle as it stands today, built from 1550 to 1580 by Honorat of Savoy.

It’s in this exceptional site, located in a prime archeological zone that the Prehistoric Museum has exhibited its collections since 1955. The museum retraces man’s evolution in six stages, from the Paleolithic to the metal ages, enabling the visitor to appreciate the diversity and the quality of the local prehistoric industries which spread their influence over all of Western Europe, mainly from the end of Neolithic age onwards.

A major project for restructuring and re-planning the museum will soon be underway. The plans include extending the exhibition space, re-interpreting the scenographic circuit, enhancing the perception of the cellars and engaging in new construction work. It is worth noting that audiovisual and multimedia mediation tools are included in the plans.
