Multimedia and audiovisual design and production

Missions: design, production and integration of multimedia and audiovisual content in cultural institutions

Multimedia and audiovisual systems must be designed as gateways between the museums and the public, providing opportunities for popularization, understanding and extending knowledge in a dynamic and fun way. They must allow the visitor to gain a sens of ownership with the collections, by giving them meaning and an existence beyond the museum walls, display cabinets or stands, where they may suffer from a lack of interaction with the public.

Audiovisual and multimedia features are an integral part of museography: they contribute to the development, re-thinking and spreading of the museum’s discourse; they also contribute to the organization of this narrative discourse in order to create a relationship between the museum piece and the visitor. They facilitate both access to the discourse, and also the appropriation of the pieces by touching, play, exchanging, reflection, scientific popularization.

Consequently, new technologies also play an integral part in the discourse: they are both the media that carry the message and catalysts of emotions and knowledge; providing both the media for the mediation and support for the mediation.

DESIGN MISSION

Our role is both very specialized and directly involved with the architectural and scenographic concept as a whole.
Specialized, at first, because we are exclusively involved in one particular aspect of the project: the integration of new information and communication technologies.
General, afterwards, because we are fully involved in the whole process of the physical layout of the museum and in the communication of the message to the public, from the perspective of harnessing key messages, making them accessible and transmitting knowledge and emotions.

Our recommendations therefore intrinsically answer two questions:

  1. What type of setup best meets the needs of the space available? How can the technical and ergonomic integration be totally optimized? And, what do these choices imply from a museographic point of view?
  2. What are the forms and means that are best suited to the transmission of the message and the emotion to the public, in terms of content?

The choice, function and form and the conditions of implementation and integration of the multimedia and audiovisual mediation tools are therefore our responsibility, in total cooperation with the other parties involved, and in line with the expectations and communication objectives of the museum.

PRODUCTION MISSION

INTERACTIVE INSTALLATIONS

An effective way to engage the visitor and help him become an actor in his visit. His posture, attitude, movements, his sensitivity and the emotions aroused by the activities, will make each person’s unique consultation a personal experience and give a playful and participative dimension to the discovery experience.

MULTIMEDIA PROGRAM

This type of tool enables the visitor to improve his knowledge as he or she pleases by selecting information of personal interest. It also allows curators to offer more extensive and better documented content, to integrate peripheral or related knowledge, studies and analysis, and to increase the levels of reading for specific types of audiences (specialists, children, the disabled) without having to redefine the whole of the museographic programming.

SOUND AND AUDIOVISUAL DEVICES

These cover both the sound content (voice-over, atmosphere and wrap, original music) and the film and documentary sequences. The stroll-through context and degree of readability determine their content and intensity.

CD-ROM

This is the perfect medium for conveying information rich in content, video, sound, voice-over, images, text, etc… Connected to the internet, it becomes a dynamic updateable tool.

WEBSITE

A virtual extension of the museum, the website is an integral part of the exhibition. It is an interface for new scenographic real-estate: a documentation center, virtual visits and interactive participation.

EXHIBITION

A synthesis of all the expertise and forms of support that Anamnesia can supply to bring your projects to fruition.
